Position Summary
Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities.
The Systems & Network Specialist in consultation with the Director of Systems & Networking is responsible for the installation and management of campus servers, hardware and systems software, wireless access points, and VoIP.
Duties & Responsibilities
Requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. and small motor functions and eye hand coordination in the use of computer equipment.
Schedule Details
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Perform other duties as assigned.

The Systems & Network Specialist in consultation with the Director of Systems & Networking is responsible for the installation and management of campus servers, hardware and systems software, wireless access points, and VoIP.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installs, tests, upgrades, and maintains server hardware and software.
- Manages components such as DNS, Microsoft Exchange, and Norton Antivirus.
- Monitor and maintain system security and functionality ensuring system integrity. Monitor all servers for errors.
- Responsible for the installation and management of file, print, directory/account, and security services and integration of these services with other campus wide services using technologies such as Active Directory.
- Optimize computer usage by researching and recommending enhancements to system capabilities and performance.
- Provide assistance with the installation and certification of campus network cabling infrastructure hardware necessary for Distance Education and hardware necessary for VoIP.
- Identify, discuss, troubleshoot and resolve technically complex network problems for clients of the campus network.
- Serious attention to detail and a sense of urgency are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, technical, written and oral communication skills, a service orientation and the ability to work with diverse individuals in a tactful, productive manner are required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience in an IT‑related field.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Data networking and network equipment
- Systems administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, etc.)
- Server or desktop virtualization technologies
- Call center operations or enterprise technical support
- Equivalent technical experience demonstrating progressively responsible IT duties
- Experience with Ethernet and TCP/IP technologies, network problem analysis and resolution, server virtualization, Microsoft Server environments, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Professional certification in Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, CISCO, and experience in higher education computing are desirable.
