We are developing a regenerative farm in Virginia spanning approximately 800 acres, focused on growing rye, heritage grains, and other cover crops, alongside an active and expanding hay operation. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on individual to support day-to-day operations as we continue to build and scale the farm.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone interested in regenerative agriculture, soil health, and gaining practical experience working across crops, livestock, and farm systems.
About the Farm
Our farm is centered around sustainable grain production, land stewardship, and improving soil health through regenerative practices. In addition to crop production, we are actively developing a broader, diversified operation that integrates agriculture, local partnerships, and on-site experiences.
Current and evolving operations include:
- Rye and heritage grain production
- Cover crops and seed management
- Hay production and sales (expanding)
- Greenhouse growing
- Chickens, goats, with plans to expand into additional livestock
- Active soil testing and a developing soil biodiversity program
- Partnerships with local businesses, including bakeries and breweries
- A small on-site farm store and long-term plans for farm-based hospitality
Responsibilities
- Assisting with planting, harvesting, and general crop care
- Supporting seed preparation, greenhouse work, and crop management
- Helping care for goats and chickens and assisting with future livestock
- Supporting hay operations (seasonal cutting, baling, storage)
- Maintaining fields, fencing, equipment, and farm infrastructure
- General farm upkeep and seasonal projects
- Assisting with new systems, soil initiatives, and ongoing farm improvements
Ideal Candidate
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to work hard
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Interested in regenerative agriculture, soil health, or farming systems
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and grow with the operation
- Prior experience is helpful but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience and time commitment (hourly or salary) ($40,000-65,000 a year)
