GROUP: Part Time
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
GRADE: Part Time
SALARY RANGE: $25/hour
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide high-intensity academic tutoring to students in grades 3-8 that are “at risk” or “not proficient”
based on statewide assessment results.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to facilitate strong, positive relationships with students and understand students’ learning needs in math and reading.
- Incorporate progress monitoring into tutoring sessions in order to track student learning progress.
- Possess effective reading, writing, and computation skills.
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possess the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to navigate online platforms.
- Acceptance of flexible work schedule.
- Dependability and punctuality required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with a degree in an acceptable field. Bachelor’s degree or Virginia teaching license preferred.
