General Summary
Under general supervision, performs various work in the general maintenance and repair of
buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment. The Groundskeeper Technician performs
duties necessary to assist the Maintenance Department to maintain Clover School District
grounds, buildings, and facilities.
They are responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of
district facilities. The many and varied responsibilities help ensure productive use
of the work time of the Maintenance Department employees.
The Groundskeeper Technician must work closely with the staff and administration of the Clover School District Maintenance Department and district staff.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalence
Five (5) to Ten (10) years of verifiable grounds, general maintenance, or construction experience.
Ability to physically perform the responsibilities listed below.
Possess good communications skills and the ability to work with various personalities.
Have the ability to respond to District needs on an "on-call" basis.
Possess initiative, flexibility, organization skills, and dependability in discharging their duties.
Maintain appearance and conduct suitable for working with students, district staff, and the public.
Possess the skills, broad knowledge, and abilities necessary to assist in facility repairs independently.
Hold a current Driver's License and evidence of a good driving record.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (List may not include all of the duties within this classification.)
Follow written and oral instructions.
Perform repairs to assist the Maintenance Department with school building needs.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness of general shop area and keep meeting room area, restrooms, and office areas clean.
Maintain equipment utilized in the various sections of the Maintenance Department.
Operate equipment such as a forklift, backhoe, skid-steer, and dump truck.
Extensive experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
Maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others in the course of work assignments.
Pick up and deliver needed equipment, parts, and supplies as required.
Perform ground maintenance, including operating power yard equipment (mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and tractors).
During inclement weather, handling snow and taking measures to reduce ice hazards.
Maintain the tools in an orderly, efficient and accurate manner, including but not limited to being accountable for tools, equipment and supplies checked in/out to district personnel.
Willingness to attend pertinent workshops and training sessions as required.
