What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Technologies Instructor – Full-Time Adjunct position at Clover Park Technical College?

*While the full salary range for this position is listed, please note that we don’t typically hire near the top of the range unless based on knowledge, skills and abilities and internal equity.
This position is represented by the Clover Park Federation of Teachers, Local 3913, AFT/ AFT Washington.Duty: Provide classroom and lab instruction utilizing various teaching techniques to prepare students for entry-level employment in the Construction Technologies industry.
Tasks include:
- Create, implement, and modify curriculum as required to meet learning outcomes.
- Maintain and manage classroom environment, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with students.
- Maintain a safe environment through instruction, policy, and continuous program equipment and laboratory space evaluation.
- Utilize an online learning management system and incorporate multiple modalities into curriculum planning.
- Maintain accurate student progress records, update them promptly, and assess and provide feedback on student learning.
- Submit student grades on time.
- Provide career guidance and job placement assistance
- Other duties as assigned.
Tasks include:
- Document and maintain accurate records of student competency, performance, and attendance per the program and college policies
- Participate in program promotion events, information sessions, and other marketing activities.
- Work with the advisory committee, program faculty, and college administration to develop strategies for continuous program and course improvement.
- Attend college In-Service Day activities, department, division, meetings, and college related events as required.
- Serve as an active participant on college committees. Provide and maintain program information and communication with the college community.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a Construction Union or Apprenticeship.
- Associate degree in construction or related field.
- Two years of teaching experience in community or technical colleges.

Clover Park Technical College is located in Lakewood, Washington. Our college has a rich history of professional and technical education dating back to the 1940s, when Clover Park School District established a War Production program, training civilians as auto mechanics, aircraft-service mechanics, ship-fitters, welders and blueprint readers.
