What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise Architect position at CloudIngest?
Enterprise Architect
Irvine, CA-Onsite
We’re Looking For for an Enterprise Architect to be the strategic mastermind behind our clients’ technological landscapes. You are a "builder" who operates at the highest level—equally comfortable whiteboarding a five-year digital transformation roadmap for a C-suite executive as you are diving into the technical debt of a legacy monolithic system.
You thrive on the intersection of business strategy and technological capability. You don't just design systems; you design the future-proof frameworks that allow entire organizations to evolve. You are a master of alignment, ensuring that every application, data flow, and infrastructure component works in harmony to achieve overarching business goals.
What You’ll Do
• Lead Technical Strategy & Governance: Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, establishing the standards, principles, and reference architectures that guide all technology decisions.
• Bridge the Gap: Act as the primary conduit between executive leadership and technical teams, translating high-level business objectives into actionable architectural roadmaps.
• Drive Modernization: Lead complex digital transformation initiatives, orchestrating the migration and modernization of legacy environments into cloud-native, microservices-based ecosystems.
• Be the Client-Facing Authority: Lead strategic discovery sessions and workshops with C-level stakeholders to assess current-state environments and define target-state visions.
• Optimize the Portfolio: Conduct application portfolio rationalization to identify redundancies, reduce technical debt, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization across the enterprise.
• Manage Risk & Security: Embed "security-by-design" principles across the entire enterprise architecture, ensuring compliance with global regulatory and privacy standards.
What You Bring (Requirements)
• Professional Experience: 10-15 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years in a formal Enterprise Architect role.
• Architectural Mastery: Deep knowledge of EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and the ability to apply them pragmatically in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Cloud Ecosystem Expertise: Expert-level understanding of AWS (Azure or GCP is a plus) and how cloud-native services integrate into a broader enterprise landscape.
• Strategic Design: Proven ability to design multi-tier, distributed systems including microservices, event-driven architectures, and complex integration patterns (APIs, ESB).
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes, financial modeling (FinOps), and the ability to perform gap analysis between current and future states.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams of Solution and Technical Architects without direct authority.
• Startup Mentality: A strategic "builder" mindset with the agility to pivot and a genuine thirst for staying ahead of emerging tech trends (AI, IoT, Blockchain).
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or TOGAF 9/Enterprise Architecture certifications.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in a high-growth Professional Services or global consulting firm.
• Tech Versatility: Experience with GenAI integration and MLOps at an enterprise scale.
