Position: Travel Registered Nurse PCU
Location: Albany, NY 12208
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Shift Timings: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36 Hours
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotating
Pay Rate: $64.50/hour
RN Progressive Care Unit Duties:
- Provides care to high-acuity medical and surgical PCU patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex trauma, and post-surgical complications.
- Demonstrates competency in advanced hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive/pressor medications per protocol.
- Manages antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, and advanced monitoring devices including arterial lines (A-line), CVP, EVD, and orthopedic traction.
- Utilizes non-invasive oxygen delivery systems including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and Oxypendent.
- Adheres strictly to infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Provides comprehensive patient assessments, documentation, and interdisciplinary communication using Epic EMR.
- Maintains ACLS certification and delivers evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients per shift.
Requirements:
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of adult PCU experience
- Epic EMR experience (Required)
ACLS Certification
- Experience with medical and surgical PCU populations
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Strong preference for candidates with community hospital ICU experience
