Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and developmental milestones.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Provide support during procedures such as IV infusions, catheterization, and suturing while maintaining a calm environment for young patients.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
- Stay current with pediatric nursing practices and participate in ongoing education to enhance your skills.
Qualifications
- Current RN license with a focus on Pediatrics or relevant experience in pediatric nursing.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred.
- Experience with critical care settings or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and NCQA standards is an asset.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and acute pain management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with children of all ages, including those with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate families about health conditions and treatment plans.
