GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Accountable for the quality of all nursing care provided within the assigned Hospital or facility/facilities. Provides leadership as the patient care executive responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the facility. Provides direction, leadership, organization, and general management for all employees and other eligible individuals within the organization in accordance with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) Practice Act and Cherokee Nation Health Services (CNHS) mission, vision, and values.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees.
- Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
- Manages up to five (5) subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of more than one hundred (100) employees in Nursing departments.
- Manages up to eight (8) non-supervisory employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities by following the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university; no substitutions. Master's degree preferred.
- Ten (10) years of experience in a related field.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must possess and maintain a license as a Registered Nurse, issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or a multi-state license accepted by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Must obtain BLS within ninety (90) days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Must obtain ACLS within one hundred and eighty (180) days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
