Job Summary
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong plastics manufacturing experience to join our team on 3rd shift. This role ensures optimal equipment performance by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and related plastics machinery. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically strong, and comfortable troubleshooting complex machine issues involving robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plastics manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic malfunctions.
- Inspect machinery to locate causes of failures using test instruments and hands-on observation.
- Dismantle, clean, repair, or replace machine components.
- Install new equipment and verify proper functionality.
- Operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, welding equipment, and cutting torches for repairs and part fabrication.
Technical & Operational Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and blueprints.
- Install and maintain pipe systems, valves, hydraulic/pneumatic lines.
- Program, troubleshoot, and upload/download PLC logic as needed.
- Verify proper setup of automated machinery and robots.
- Use forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, hoists, slings, and rigging tools to move equipment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Document all maintenance activities in CMMS.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain clean and organized tools, work areas, and parts storage.
- Support continuous improvement by helping create and maintain SOPs and checklists.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Mentor Level I Technicians as needed.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and engineering staff.

Required Qualifications
- 2 or 4-year technical degree OR 5–10 years equivalent maintenance experience.
- 2–5 years of plastics manufacturing maintenance experience in at least one:
- Injection Molding
- Inline Sheet Extrusion
- Inline Thermoforming
- EPP/EPS Shape Molding
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, safety rules, and technical manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
- Comfortable with math concepts including geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to learn forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift operations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Haitian or JSW injection molding machines
- Star robots
- Lyle inline thermoforming
- Davis-Standard extrusion lines
- Akkaya EPP/EPS molding machines
- Una-Dyn or Novatec material handling equipment
- CMMS data entry experience
- Certified forklift or aerial-lift operator
- Strong computer skills

Pay: $62,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
