Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies, to reduce pain and improve function.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for ongoing care at home or in community settings.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention strategies, and health maintenance.
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with all safety and privacy regulations.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team efforts in acute care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health programs.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice.
- Proven experience with inpatient care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
- Skilled in various therapeutic techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation methods.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting recovery and mobility.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and interdisciplinary collaboration.
