Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant/Toddler Teacher and Teachers Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

We have 3 houses in the historic district of Salem, all within walking distance of each other. One is the infant/toddler house, the other is a 2 to 3-year-old house and next-door to that is our preschool. While the positions we are currently hiring for would mainly be at the infant house, staff are required to work at all three houses, if there’s ever a need.

Duties

  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and respect among students.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians regarding their development.
  • Using the Brightwheel app to update parents throughout the day and communicate with families and staff/admin.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience for all students.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Provide individualized support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.

Qualifications

  • Patience and kindness are the MOST important! If you have those, we can figure everything else out together!
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting or infants/toddlers in a daycare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management techniques is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children with disabilities or in special education is a plus.
  • Background in caregiving roles such as babysitting or nannying is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Ability to create a nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning and growth for all children.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood education practices is encouraged.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
