Role: Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect – Azure (Operations-Focused)
Contract Length: Contract-to-Hire (CTH), 6-month initial term
Location: Major preference for local Denver candidates, open to remote (preference for MST, but will consider CST and PST, must work MST hours)
Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C, C2H will not be considered
Position Overview
Seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect with deep Microsoft Azure expertise to help enhance and stabilize its cloud environment while providing hands-on operational support. This position is being added to supplement an overstretched internal team and support the evolution of the organization’s cloud strategy toward a future-state "Cloud 2.0" model. The ideal candidate combines strategic architectural experience with a willingness to actively contribute to daily administration and operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the current Azure environment and identify architectural gaps, risks, and modernization opportunities aligned with the Cloud 2.0 vision.
- Design and assist with enhancements to identity and access management, including Conditional Access policies, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and application registrations.
- Support Azure Key Vault administration, secrets management, and security hardening initiatives.
- Work alongside the internal security team as responsibility for identity and access controls continues to transition and mature.
- Deliver senior-level operational support throughout the Azure ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on hands-on execution rather than advisory work alone.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to existing Azure team members while helping alleviate operational workload.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure leadership and cross-functional technology teams on ongoing cloud initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience serving as a Senior Azure Cloud Architect or Infrastructure Architect.
- Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Conditional Access Policies
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Application Registrations
- Azure Key Vault
- Proven ability to operate effectively in both strategic architecture and day-to-day operations roles.
- Experience supporting large enterprise environments with complex cloud landscapes and limited internal resources.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across security, infrastructure, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience helping organizations evolve from a reactive cloud operating model to a structured, future-state cloud strategy.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments or large-scale industrial enterprises.
Salary : $65 - $70
