Role Summary
The
Digital Marketing Architect
is responsible for designing and solutioning end-to-end digital marketing systems that power personalized customer engagement at scale. This role bridges
marketing strategy & enterprise solution design
- with deep expertise in any one of the major product providers i.e. -
Adobe Experience Cloud
(AEP, AEM, Campaign, Target, Journey Optimizer) or
Salesforce Marketing Cloud
(SFMC, CDP, Personalization, Interaction Studio). The architect ensures unified customer profiles, seamless data ingestion pipelines, and real-time journey orchestration across channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture & System Design
- Design
end-to-end digital marketing ecosystems
integrating major platforms like Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), and connected systems (CRM, commerce, analytics, call centers, etc.). - Architect
Customer Data Platform (CDP)
solutions to unify and activate customer profiles across channels. - Lead solution blueprints for
Real-Time Customer Profiles
,
Identity Resolution
, and
Segmentation
using AEP and Salesforce Data Cloud. - Define APIs, event streaming, and data ingestion patterns for
real-time data pipelines
from web, mobile, and offline systems. - Develop
reference architectures
and integration patterns between AEP, SFMC, AEM, and downstream systems.
3. Journey Orchestration & Activation
- Design and implement
journey orchestration strategies
leveraging either Adobe Journey Optimizer or Salesforce Journey Builder. - Help define
decisioning logic, trigger events, and offer management
frameworks that support contextual personalization. - Collaborate with campaign teams to operationalize
audience segmentation, propensity modeling, and next-best-action
logic. - Enable
omnichannel orchestration
across owned (email, SMS, web, app) and paid (ad tech) channels.
4. Platform Engineering & Integration
- Define and oversee
API-driven integrations
between AEP/SFMC and other enterprise systems (CRM, commerce, analytics, DAM, call centers). - Define
metadata, taxonomy, and tagging strategies
to support personalized content and analytics. - Serve as
trusted advisor
on how Adobe/Salesforce capabilities can be implemented / integrated within an existing ecosystem. - Provide guidance to implementation partners and developers through
architecture governance and best practices

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- Adobe Experience Cloud:
AEP (RTCP, Segmentation Service, Journey Optimizer), AEM, Target, Campaign, Analytics.
OR - Salesforce Marketing Cloud / Data Cloud:
Journey Builder, Personalization (Interaction Studio), CDP, Einstein, Cloud Pages. - Data Integration:
APIs, REST/GraphQL, Adobe I/O, MuleSoft, Kafka, Snowflake, Azure/AWS data services. - Strong understanding of
data models, identity graphs, and consent frameworks
. - Experience with
event-based architectures

Architectural Skills
- Proven experience designing
multi-platform MarTech ecosystems
across Adobe and Salesforce stacks. - Expertise in
solution architecture documentation
: data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and capability maps. - Strong understanding of
marketing data governance, taxonomy, and metadata-driven content systems

Preferred Qualifications
- Adobe Certified Expert –
Adobe Experience Platform Architect / AEM Architect. OR - Salesforce Certified
Marketing Cloud Consultant / Data Cloud Consultant / Technical Architect. - Familiarity with
marketing measurement, MMM, and attribution frameworks.
