Fiber Installation Technician

Job Overview
Cloud 9 Fiber is seeking a motivated and reliable Fiber Installation Technician to join our growing team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic internet services for residential and business customers.
We are a fast-growing, locally owned internet provider focused on delivering high-speed fiber connectivity to our community. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving technical problems, and being part of a team building critical infrastructure, this is a great opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fiber optic internet services at residential and commercial locations
- Perform fiber drops from pole or pedestal to customer premises
- Install and configure ONTs, routers, and customer equipment
- Splice fiber (preferred but not required — willing to train the right candidate)
- Test and troubleshoot fiber connections using appropriate tools
- Run and secure indoor/outdoor cabling cleanly and professionally
- Educate customers on equipment and basic service usage
- Document installs, signal levels, and work performed
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working on ladders and around utility infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Preferred (Not Required)
- Fiber splicing experience
- Bucket truck or climbing experience
