Sewing Floor Lead
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the in-house sewing teams. This role is critical to ensure CDS is sending the highest quality garments and products to our clients, while delivering on time. A general knowledge of sewn goods production and basic computer skills, communication are key to succeeding in this role.
The key performing indicators are:
- Lead and motivate the team by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and ensuring accountability
- Strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines, garment construction, and production process
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ensures quality and due dates are met
- Oversees sewing schedule and keeps it updated
- Ensures processes are followed to adhere to strict quality standards
- Assists in being sure order is properly prepared and ready for sewing
The day to day duties will include:
- Ensures sewers are hitting daily goals by being sure needs are met
- Arrange for repairs to happen within 24 hours
- Ensures garments are sewn accurately
- Coordinates labor
- Updates the Master Production Schedule
- Ensures orders are on track for on time delivery
Experience:
- Previous experience in a lead role, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred
