Requirements
- Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Washington, DC, Maryland (MD), or Virginia (VA). Willing to get licensed in additional states preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing therapy to youth, adults, and individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- Experience treating patients ages 13 and older.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience providing telehealth services.
- Experience working with specialized populations or treatment areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss.
- Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals.
- Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy using modalities such as CBT and DBT.
- Deliver care virtually.
- Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate treatment plans, progress, and recommendations with clients, families, and stakeholders.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
- Develop safety plans and strategies to prevent or mitigate crises.
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Contracted commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options available, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
- Expected to maintain a consistent patient volume commensurate with contracted hours and organizational access needs.
