Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, vehicles, and machinery
- Assign work tasks to technicians based on skill level and workload while maintaining productivity standards
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Mentor and support technicians in troubleshooting complex issues involving hydraulics, transmissions, electrical systems, and other mechanical components
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service documentation in accordance with dealership policies
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed rigorously to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status, estimates, and technical explanations as needed
Skills
- Extensive experience with dealership service operations and heavy equipment mechanics
- Skilled in automotive electrical system repair, diesel engine diagnostics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, suspension work, and tire service
- Ability to operate power tools safely for assembly and equipment repair tasks
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, alignment procedures, vehicle maintenance routines, and mechanical systems repair
- Familiarity with heavy truck repair including diesel mechanics and vehicle electrical systems for truck drivers
- Excellent troubleshooting skills using schematics; ability to read technical manuals accurately
- Customer service-oriented mindset with effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely
