Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of floor care and sanitation
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning materials in accordance with safe lifting practices
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning products to ensure continuous availability for staff and visitors
- Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent injuries or hazards within the facility
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks including residential painting or basic repairs as needed to support facilities upkeep
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the use of various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents is essential
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or painting is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence during heavy lifting and custodial activities
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks efficiently while maintaining safe lifting practices
