Position Description
Title: General Clerk
Location: ON SITE at Coprorate Office, Waldorf, MD
Employment Type: Full-Time/Mon-Fri/8-5a
Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour
Position Summary
The General Clerk provides administrative and clerical support for National Transcript Copy (NTC) operations, ensuring accurate processing, handling, and tracking of official transcript requests and related documentation. This role supports government workflows requiring attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to established procedures and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process National Transcript Copy (NTC) requests in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Accurately input, update, and maintain records within agency databases and tracking systems
- Sort, log, copy, scan, and electronically file transcripts and supporting documentation
- Perform quality control checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper formatting of transcript copy materials
- Prepare correspondence, forms, and internal documentation related to transcript requests
- Order requested Transcripts and Exhibits
- Track request status, deadlines, and fulfillment completion to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive and/or personally identifiable information (PII)
- Support audits, reporting, and data validation efforts as required
- Communicate professionally with internal staff and authorized external stakeholders
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned in support of NTC operations
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Higher
- Minimum of 1 year of clerical or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to accurately enter data and manage records in electronic systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting government, court, legal, or records management operations
- Familiarity with transcript processing, document control, or records management systems
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information
- Ability to meet contract‑specific background investigation or suitability requirements
