Key Account Manager

Clix is a digital marketing agency that helps businesses grow through tailored, data-driven strategies. We are hiring a Key Account Manager to lead complex client relationships, translate business needs into marketing outcomes, and shape how we serve high-impact accounts.


We need an experienced and strategic account manager to oversee a portfolio of mid-to-high complexity accounts.


You will be the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and long-term strategy. This role requires commercial acumen, marketing fluency, and operational discipline. Success is measured by client satisfaction, retention, and growth based on the value of the account under your leadership.


Strong Preference: Candidates with experience managing marketing programs for law firms or serving as client or account managers in the legal industry.


Bonus Qualifications: Experience in paid or organic search strategy, strategic account planning, and consultative up-selling. Familiarity with and understanding of SEO/AEO and paid advertising (paid search, paid social, programmatic, CTV/OTT) planning and delivery in an agency setting is critical.

Location: Remote first, but must reside in the Greater St. Louis area for occasional in-person client and team meetings.


Core Responsibilities

  • Own client relationships from onboarding through ongoing service delivery and act as the primary advisor and point of contact.
  • Grow and retain accounts by increasing client value, identifying expansion opportunities, and aligning Clix services to evolving needs.
  • Consult on strategy across SEO, PPC, paid social, and related channels and guide clients on when to expand or shift investment.
  • Lead client meetings focused on business outcomes, not outputs, and evaluate performance against statements of work.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure goals are understood while allowing specialists to drive tactical execution.
  • Translate performance data into clear business insights using tools such as Google Analytics and AI assisted reporting.
  • Use AI and LLM tools to draft communications, synthesize data, and accelerate deliverables to create more strategic bandwidth.
  • Set and manage expectations with clarity and solve gaps between objectives and campaign capabilities.
  • Stay current on digital marketing and AI trends and educate clients on relevant opportunities.
  • Build long-term partnerships through proactive service, strong communication, and continued value creation.


Ideal Education and Experience

  • ≥5 years of client-facing experience in a digital marketing agency or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to retain and grow accounts through upsell and cross-sell based on value creation.
  • Broad digital marketing fluency across SEO, PPC, paid social, CRO, and analytics.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect marketing performance to financial outcomes.
  • Executive presence with the ability to lead meetings confidently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills with a solutions oriented approach.
  • Comfortable using AI and digital tools to analyze data and strengthen recommendations.
