Duties
- Prepare and perform piano accompaniments for weekly worship services, including hymns, and special musical selections
- Collaborate with pastor and choir director to select appropriate music that aligns with service themes and liturgical calendar
- Lead congregational singing by providing clear, confident piano support that encourages active participation
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere through positive engagement with choir members and congregation members alike
Experience
- Proven experience playing piano in a church or similar worship setting, demonstrating versatility across various musical styles including traditional and contemporary genres
- Strong understanding of musical theory, sight-reading skills, and the ability to adapt arrangements as needed
- Experience collaborating with vocalists, instrumentalists, and worship teams to create cohesive performances
- Ability to read sheet music fluently and improvise when necessary to support spontaneous moments during services
