Your Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook daily meals following menu guidelines and nutritional standards.
- Work closely with the Head Cook and nutrition staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and special food requirements.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in hygiene and safety training as necessary; ensure compliance with local health codes and regulations.
- Interact positively with children, staff, and families.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary experience or training preferred.
- Current ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
- Prior experience in cooking for children or in a childcare setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and nutrition guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare meals from scratch and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing menus or dietary needs.
