Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science, specifically for chemistry.
- Instruct students in general and potentially advanced chemistry concepts, including laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student learning regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with school and district policies.
- Prepare and maintain a safe, orderly, and well-equipped chemistry laboratory.
- Collaborate with other science teachers, department heads, and school staff to improve instructional practices and curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school-sponsored events.
- Stay current with developments in chemistry education and best practices in teaching.
