Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and clinical diagnoses utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute psychiatric episodes effectively and ensure patient safety.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines, incorporating patient goals, progress notes, and medical records within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including psychiatrists, case managers, educators, and medical professionals—to coordinate care for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection to enhance clinical practices and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience working in community mental health settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavior management techniques.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and families—especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or complex behavioral needs.
- Strong crisis management skills with the ability to perform mental health assessments during emergency situations effectively.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and electronic health record systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience working within inpatient or outpatient clinics preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts.
