Company Description Clinical Science Research Solutions, LLC (CSRS) is a MWBE and WOSB-certified organization, as well as a Certified CRIO Partner, focused on expanding access to clinical research and promoting health equity. Through CSRS Research Naive Institute, the organization provides education, mentorship, and hands-on training for research-naive professionals pursuing roles such as Clinical Research Coordinators, Clinical Research Associates, and Principal Investigators. CSRS serves as a hub connecting research sites, vendors, sponsors, and CROs with trained professionals, operational support, and GCP compliance strategies to ensure successful and audit-ready clinical trials. In partnership with I.A.M. Research & Wellness Foundation, CSRS advances community health equity, increases diversity in clinical trials, and makes clinical research education more accessible through innovative tools and outreach. The company is actively growing its clinical research site capabilities to better serve diverse patient populations and industry partners.


Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Grant Writer & Funding Development Specialist. The specialist will research and identify grant opportunities and funding sources aligned with CSRS programs, workforce development initiatives, and community health equity projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing, editing, and customizing grant proposals, letters of intent, concept papers, and funder communications, as well as preparing supporting materials such as budgets, timelines, and impact statements. The role will involve collaborating with leadership and program teams to gather program data, outcomes, and narratives, and translating them into compelling, compliant, and well-structured proposals. The specialist will also manage a grant pipeline and calendar, track submissions and reporting deadlines, maintain accurate documentation, and support the development of donor and partner relationships through clear, professional written communication.

Qualifications

  • Strong grant writing and proposal development skills, including experience drafting narratives, needs statements, objectives, and outcomes for public and private funders.
  • Research and analytical skills for identifying grant opportunities, reviewing guidelines, and aligning funder priorities with organizational programs and initiatives.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with attention to detail, clarity, structure, and consistency across multiple documents and formats.
  • Experience in funding development or nonprofit development, including cultivating relationships with foundations, agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Ability to develop basic grant budgets, collaborate with leadership on financial justifications, and ensure alignment between narrative and financial documents.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including managing a grant calendar, meeting deadlines, and tracking multiple concurrent submissions.
  • Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, shared drives, virtual meeting platforms) in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and communicate

Mandatory Experience


• NIH, NSF SBIR/STTR, HRSA, USDA, SBA, Department of Labor, and foundation grants


• Healthcare, clinical research, workforce development, public health, education, or health equity funding


• Strong proposal writing and project management experience
