Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Assistant/Processor to join our dynamic team for the evening shift. This position plays a crucial role in supporting both the administrative and operational functions of our laboratory. Working well in a team environment and communicating effectively with others is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support laboratory operations both administratively and operationally.
- Handle and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with data entry and management using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Ensure proper handling of potentially infectious materials following laboratory best practices.
- Collaborate with team members across various levels of technical expertise.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with quality control and instrument maintenance tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required to support laboratory functions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Degree required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of laboratory or medical experience preferred.
- Clinical/Reference laboratory experience is advantageous.
Skills:
- Knowledge of laboratory best practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical and laboratory terminology is a plus.
- Experience with LIS is preferred.
- Understanding of ICD-10 coding and billing fundamentals is a competitive advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with skills in data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in computer skills and instrument maintenance.
- Authorized to work in the United States with full fluency in English.
