The Nurse Educator Operating Room will provide clinical education to the new hires and current department staff. Reporting to the Director of Professional Development, the Nurse Educator will work across several medical surgical departments dedicated to pediatric care. Responsibilities of the Operating Room Nurse Educator include coordinating the on-boarding and new hire orientation for all inpatient, acute care employees within the perioperative surgical services department dedicated to a pediatric population. The Nurse Educator Operating Room will ensure compliance, patient safety, and quality care is consistently delivered through promoting a team oriented, positive, patient-centered environment.
With state-of-the-art equipment throughout the hospital, the Nurse Educator Pediatric Operating Room will be up-to-date utilizing advanced technology and evidence based practice. The Nurse Educator Operating Room should also be familiar with using electronic medical records EMR, creating educational curriculums and programs, presenting, and mentoring teams. Additionally, the Nurse Educator OR will have a recent clinical background working in an operating room, ideally with a pediatric population, along with prior preceptor or Nurse Educator experience. The Nurse Educator Operating Room should hold their Registered Nurse License.
