Title: Shipping Associate
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary
The Shipping Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the shipping department by ensuring products are accurately prepared, packaged, staged, loaded, and shipped according to company standards. This is a hands-on warehouse position that requires working as part of a team to move materials, prepare customer orders, maintain organization, and support the overall flow of outbound shipments. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Shipping Associate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, and all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
- Accurately pick, pack, wrap, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks using proper material handling techniques and equipment.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as required (if applicable).
- Move raw materials, components, finished goods, and inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments by unloading, inspecting, sorting, and staging materials.
- Verify product quantities and assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as assigned.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including shipping docks, storage locations, and staging areas.
- Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies and report concerns to the Shipping Supervisor.
- Assist with preparing pallets and securing freight for shipment.
- Follow shipping instructions to ensure customer orders are complete and shipped accurately.
- Assist with dispatch activities and loading schedules as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Receiving, Inventory, and other departments to ensure efficient material flow.
- Cover breaks and lunches for other team members when required.
- Participate in department meetings, safety training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to learn warehouse procedures and shipping processes.
- Basic computer skills are a plus but not required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Forklift Certification preferred or willingness to become certified.
Physical Demands
- Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, or modified schedules based on business needs.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday.
- Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, moderate noise levels, and exposure to dust and airborne particles.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of warehouse or shipping experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Manufacturing or distribution experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

- 8-hour shift
- 10-hour shift
- Overtime as needed
