Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols
- Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to assist with patient assessment
- Maintain proper labeling, documentation, and handling of specimens to ensure integrity and traceability
- Assist laboratory staff with routine procedures, including specimen processing, data entry, and inventory management
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
- Follow all safety guidelines related to infection control, specimen handling, and laboratory environment standards
Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques essential for specimen collection and processing
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to blood sampling and patient care
- Experience with venipuncture (blood sampling) and phlebotomy techniques in a clinical or hospital setting
