As an In-Home Health Care RT, you'll have the unique privilege of building meaningful relationships with your patients, providing holistic care that extends beyond medical needs to truly touch their lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to patients in their homes, including assessment, treatment, and education
- Set up, monitor, and maintain respiratory equipment such as oxygen therapy devices, CPAP/BiPAP machines, ventilators, and nebulizers
- Perform patient assessments, including respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and response to treatment
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper use of equipment, medications, and disease management
- Ensure compliance with physician orders, state regulations, and company policies
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress accurately and in a timely manner
- Respond to patient needs and troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Qualifications
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Tennessee
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience (home health experience preferred)
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with home ventilators and chronic disease management
- Prior home health or durable medical equipment (DME) experience
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
