Duties and Responsibilities for Position as Youth Programs Coordinator & Head Coach – Rio:
Take the active role of facilitating all aspects of Youth Programs at Sportrock Rio
- Youth Programs include but are not limited to:
○ Competitive teams
○ Recreational after school programs
○ Recreational weekend and homeschool programs
○ Summer camps
○ Birthday Parties
○ School-year camps
○ Private instruction
- Take an active coaching role, coaching Youth Team and recreational programs regularly
- Support regular quality check processes that include but are not limited to collecting customer feedback
- Support data analysis as required to understand how programs are performing relative to their potential
- Support management of all RGP components for programming bookings
- Work collaboratively with Director of Marketing to market Youth Teams and Recreational Youth Programming
- Respond to all inquiries regarding Youth Teams and Recreational Youth Programs at your home location
- Work collaboratively with other locations to manage inquiries
- Oversee and ensure registration and payment collection for Youth Teams and communicate with Director of Membership
- Oversee and ensure registration and payment collection for Recreational Youth Programs and Summer Camp and communicate with Supervisor(s)
- Coordinate with the Director of Marketing to fill all Youth Programs
- Attend and oversee athlete assessments and tryouts

- Handle all staffing needs for all Youth Programs at Sportrock Rio, including but not limited to: ○ Hiring
○ Training
○ Scheduling
○ Ongoing mentorship
- Work closely with coaches to identify participants ready to move up and assist with reaching out to and communicating with parents
- Help to create, maintain, and evolve curriculum for all youth programs
- Oversee and assist with organizing outdoor trip(s) specific to team
- Manage, track and submit expenses for teams (e.g., apparel, equipment, travel for out of state comps)
- Assist in recruitment and marketing efforts to the general public by seeking out and attending fairs/expos, working with schools, etc.
- Plan USAC competition schedule prior to season, disseminate to parents and attend regular season competitions
- Work with Youth Programs Director to ensure coaches are current with USA Climbing coaching requirements including background checks and CPR certification
- Maintain 1-2 business day response time with all customer-facing external
communication
- Attend and be prepared for all meetings
- Obtain and keep current active USAC coaching status
- Must be able to independently follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to cheerfully and professionally communicate with members of the public
