Fair warning before you keep reading:

This isn't a "duties as assigned, punch in, punch out" posting. If you want to be told exactly what to do all day, every day, this isn't your job — and honestly, you'll be miserable here. If that sounds appealing instead of terrifying, keep going.

Who are we:

We are Climb Electric. We specialize in custom commercial and residential builds — a lot of them design builds, and a lot of them the kind you'd see featured in a parade of homes. That means beautiful, high-end work where the electrical isn't just supposed to function — it's supposed to look like it belongs there. We not only take pride in the quality of our work and the people who represent our name but that is why our clients hire us – quality, quality, quality.

What you're actually signing up for:

• Quality is non-negotiable – it is #1 priority. If "good enough" is your outlook at work – straight to jail, this isn't the role for you.
• Design builds are a regular part of our work, and that means you need a real eye for aesthetics, proportion, symmetry, finish quality: the works! Think parade-home level. If it wouldn't pass in a parade home, it doesn't pass here.
• Blueprints are the exception, not the rule. And when they exist, they change constantly. If you need a locked-down plan to do good work, this will drive you crazy. If you can’t function efficiently without blueprints, don’t apply.
• Nothing here is cut and dry. Every job throws something at you that isn't in a manual. If that kind of ambiguity makes you want to quit, don't apply — save us both the trouble.
• We are not babysitters. You need to be able to work productively, accurately, and efficiently without someone standing over you. If you require constant direction, this isn’t the job for you.
• Critical thinking is the job. Not a nice-to-have. Critical thinking is a requirement. If it's not your strong suit, this role will make that very clear, very fast.
• You need to be able to competently figure things out. We will not hold your hand while we say this – this is NOT a position for novice electricians; this is not school. We WILL teach and train you on our systems, our standards, and how we run jobs — what we won't do is teach you electrical from the ground up. You are expected to already understand completely how and why electrical systems work, and you need to know code — not how to google code, you need to know it and how to search the code book to verify (NOT Google).

Know when you don't know:

Balancing speed and quality means knowing your limits. Any good tradesman knows when something is beyond their expertise — very few actually ask for help when they hit that line. We prioritize quality and efficiency: get it done right, in as timely a manner as possible. So humble up and be willing to ask for direction or direct yourself to another job application.

Communication is KEY:

If you're easily embarrassed about asking questions, uncomfortable admitting you don't know how to do something, or think you're too good to ask for help, STOP, do not pass go, do not collect 200, do not apply. If communication isn’t your strong suit, you will not last long here.

We know this reads like it contradicts "figure it out" above, so let's be clear: we are the opposite of a team that hands you zero direction and a PM who hates being asked questions. Design build requires constant communication. Be willing to ask, or this isn't the job for you. We grow when we ask questions, talk, and stay on the same page. If that doesn't interest you, don't apply.

Quality — Yes, I know it’s been mentioned already, that’s because it’s important:

There's no room for half-butt work here. Quality! If you leave a job or jobsite done half-butted, you can take that other cheek and find a job where they accept half a butt because Climb only accepts full butts.

There may be twenty ways to wire something, but only a handful of those are actually done right, and fewer still are both right and efficient. We only accept efficient and quality electrical work. Quality, continuously, daily, constantly.

We aren't looking for just anyone with a pulse and license. We want someone who values their time, takes pride in their work, understands the whole picture, and genuinely enjoys the trade — the routine parts AND the challenging parts.

Integrity:

Non-negotiable. We're talking old-fashioned, straight-as-an-arrow honesty. We absolutely DO NOT take advantage of clients, we DO NOT engage in shady work, we DO NOT accept employees who lie on their timesheets who think they can get paid an extra 10 minutes each day even though they’re actually sitting in their car eating lunch or scrolling Instagram or driving home. How you behave on your personal time is on you – if you work for Climb Electric, the expectation is integrity during your workday. If you expect to fly under the radar and have the mindset that you can ‘get away’ with this, that, or the other, you can take your dishonest work ethic (or lack of ethics for that matter) to find yourself another job because you won’t last here.

Requirements

• Full Commercial Journeyman Electrician license REQUIRED, with a minimum of 2 years working with that full journeyman license
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Residential Electrical
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Commercial Electrical
• Minimum 1 year experience Troubleshooting/Service Electrical
• Experience running a crew and training apprentice electricians
• Extensive understanding of both residential and commercial electrical work
• Strong problem-solving ability
• One previous employer reference required — must be a supervisor or manager who worked directly with you, not a coworker – Include this in your cover letter or resume or you will not get called in for an interview.
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable Vehicle/Transportation

Skills and qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards (NEC and local code)
• Strong troubleshooting ability on complex electrical problems
• Ability to manage daily job site operations, delegate effectively, and prioritize
• Ability to document work clearly and communicate with project managers to interpret and implement plans
• Enforces safety standards, including proper PPE use and electrical safety procedures

Physical requirements

Standing for long periods, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy materials or equipment.

Schedule

Four 10-hour days. Fridays only when the job requires it.

Pay

$40.00–$60.00/hour, depending on experience and competency — negotiable for those who can display competency in all the above requirements.
