What You’ll be driving as a Loan Collections Specialist

  • Uncompromising Compliance Safeguarding the Bank’s reputation and legal standing are your number one priority. You maintain full adherence to internal policies and external regulations, including FDCPA, ECOA, and SBA servicing guidelines (SOP 50 57 and SOP 50 10). You diligently document your efforts and participate in periodic audits and reviews. Lastly, you stay current with regulatory updates and best practices in collections and borrower engagement.
  • Delivering Delinquency Solutions You drive timely collection efforts and achieve optimal recovery rates for delinquent accounts in consumer solar, commercial, residential, and SBA-guaranteed loan portfolios. Leveraging your deep understanding of policies and procedures, you negotiate payment arrangements and document all communications and outcomes in the loan servicing system. You work closely with legal and credit teams and prepare accounts for litigation, charge off or SBA guaranty purchase. Prioritizing proactivity and efficiency, you actively monitor trends and recurring issues and recommend process improvements where needed.
  • Proactive Borrower Engagement and Education Leading with empathy and professionalism, you educate borrowers on loan terms and consequences of non-payment and foster respectful, solution-oriented communications. You drive resolution and reduce repeat delinquencies while upholding the Bank’s values and customer service standards. Diligently monitoring portfolio activity, you initiate borrower contact within 5 days of delinquency for consumer solar loans and issue demand letters and follow-up actions within 48 hours of status change for commercial and residential loans.
  • Champion our Mission fiercely and passionately by adopting and practicing a commitment to social, economic, environmental, and racial justice. You will apply curiosity and interest in our core values and pursue education related to sustainability practices.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Your Experience and Education This isn’t your first rodeo in Collections – you are familiar with FDCPA, ECOA, and SBA servicing guidelines, ideally with 3 years of progressive experience handling Commercial and/ or SBA portfolios to prove it.
  • Your Entrepreneurial Self-Starter Mentality You love taking charge of your work product and take great pride in delivering consistently great results. Once you know what is expected of you, you run with it — independently driving collection efforts forward in a high-volume environment. A high-pace and high-expectation environment excites you and you can’t wait to push yourself to new professional heights in a company that rewards high performance.
  • Your Master Communicator Expertise Whether it’s on camera, phone, or chat—you’re confident, concise, and professional. You listen deeply and respond thoughtfully. Your negotiation skills are unmatched, and you understand that thorough documentation is part of the process.
  • Your Banking Acumen You understand banking and collections deeply. Once you understand a process, you consistently look for ways to improve it or to complete it more efficiently. You are also committed to becoming a compliance wiz and actively pursue excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and branch protocols.
  • Your Tech-Forward Thinking You’re quick to learn new tools and excited by innovation.
  • Your Organization & Efficiency Guru Status You manage your time like a pro, stay focused under pressure, and keep your workflow humming. You love putting your head down and getting into the groove but also appreciate changing routines. You’re a master note-taker and checklist fanatic and consider “dropped balls” a four-letter word.
  • Your Commitment to Being a Team Player You lift others up, share ideas, and bring positive energy to everything you do. You know what it takes to operate as a part of a larger team and cherish opportunities to contribute to the big picture.

What To Expect From Your Physical Environment

  • Remote role.
  • Sustained standing and sitting.
  • Frequent communication (speaking and listening) in person, via email, text, phone or video chat.
  • Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor.
