Clifton Park Baptist Church’s Silver Spring Service Consolidation Hub Clifton Park Baptist Church has proudly provided essential grocery support to our community for 15 years. While our food distribution program has successfully engaged many, we also offer vital services such as voter registration, blood pressure checks, case management, and health clinics. We are currently reaching 4,000-5,000 households through ten monthly food distributions, home deliveries, and collaborative efforts with partner organizations. Skills Building Coordinator Job Summary

This role requires fluency in English and Spanish and focuses on strengthening community learning, engagement, and access to skills‑building opportunities. The Skills Building Coordinator will: (1) Oversee the management, quality, and growth of existing skills‑building programs, ensuring smooth operations, supporting instructors and volunteers, and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment. (2) Develop and implement new programs, classes, and partnerships based on identified community needs, including coordinating logistics, recruiting instructors or partners, and piloting new initiatives that expand learning opportunities for youth and adults. (3) Conduct outreach and community engagement during food distributions, connecting residents with available programs, gathering feedback to inform future programming, and strengthening relationships with community members.
This is a part-time to full time position (20-40 hours per week) based on available programs and skills. The following are minimum needs: Monday 8:30AM-3:30PM, Tuesday 8:30AM-3:30PM, Wednesday 8:30AM-3:30PM, and Thursday 8:00AM-3:00PM. The pay rate is $22-$25 per hour. There will be a 30-day trial period to ensure mutual fit and alignment with our mission to serve the community.
Job Responsibilities

Build and strengthen relationships with community members and organizations
Maintain a welcoming, organized, and inclusive learning environment
Required Skills and Qualities
Fluency in Spanish and English.
Experience working in the non-profit sector and/or coordinating community-based programs.
Ability to connect with community members to understand their needs and help them find resources.
Comfortable using computers (including Google Platforms and Microsoft 365) and willing to learn new softwares.
Can effectively manage multiple competing tasks, remain organized, and creatively problem-solve.
Ability to communicate professionally (written and verbal) and effectively communicate across diverse cultural settings.
Have a high level of respect for all people, especially in high-stress situations.
