Job Summary:
Clifton Child Care Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Dishwasher and Food Runner to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, as well as ensuring timely and efficient delivery of meals to the classrooms. The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced setting, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for supporting the overall well-being of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing and Kitchen Cleaning:
- Wash and sanitize all kitchenware, utensils, and dishes in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Dispose of trash and recycling regularly to ensure cleanliness.
- Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment as needed.
- Food Running and Distribution:
- Prepare and distribute meal trays, snacks, and beverages to classrooms according to the daily schedule.
- Ensure that all food is delivered promptly and in compliance with food safety standards.
- Safely transport food from the kitchen to various classrooms while maintaining hygiene and order.
- Assistance with Meal Prep:
- Support the kitchen staff with light food preparation tasks, such as cutting fruits and vegetables, assembling snacks, and setting up serving stations.
- Replenish serving supplies and utensils as needed.
- Collaboration with Staff:
- Work closely with the kitchen team and teaching staff to ensure meals are delivered smoothly and on time.
- Communicate any kitchen supply needs or issues to the kitchen manager promptly.
- Compliance with Health & Safety Standards:
- Follow all local health department guidelines for food handling and cleanliness.
- Ensure proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with any health and safety inspections or regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, dishwashing, or food running role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food handling and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team setting.
- Must pass a background check and meet health and safety requirements for child care centers.
