We are looking for a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, DBT, SQL, data modeling, and modern data engineering. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data pipelines and transformation frameworks supporting critical banking and financial data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT.
- Develop complex DBT models, macros, tests, snapshots, and reusable transformation frameworks.
- Write highly optimized SQL for large-scale data processing.
- Design and implement data warehouse and data mart solutions in Snowflake.
- Develop ELT pipelines and integrate data from multiple source systems.
- Perform data modeling, transformation, reconciliation, and data quality validation.
- Optimize Snowflake queries, workloads, storage, and overall data processing performance.
- Establish and enforce DBT development standards, testing, documentation, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex data pipeline and production issues.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Mentor junior data engineers and conduct code/design reviews.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and application teams.
- Support CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment of data engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with banking data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
- 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL development and optimization skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with DBT.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ELT architecture.
- Experience developing and managing enterprise-scale data pipelines.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Rhode Island.
- Strong banking/financial services domain experience.
- Experience with Python or other data engineering scripting languages.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architecture.
- Experience with DBT Cloud or enterprise DBT implementations.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives.
