We are seeking a part-time IT Support Technician - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY to join our team! You will resolve computer-related issues for our clients. (Your position may work into being full-time.)
This job is currently a part-time position available to IT Support Technicians. Under general supervision, our IT Support Technicians provide technical computer software, hardware, and network problem resolutions for our clients. Most often, this involves problem diagnosis and providing solutions. The IT Support Technicians communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner and assist other IT personnel in performing work related to various technical systems, as required. A friendly disposition and outgoing personality are a must. We will train the right person. House calls require reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software.
- Resolve issues for clients via phone, in person, or electronically.
- Recommend hardware and software improvements.
- Track customer issues and resolutions.
- Field all IT help desk calls/tickets and create the initial record of the request.
- Point of Sale - enter customer information using our check-out procedure.
- Identify, diagnose and resolve various technical problems for clients.
- Document solutions and provide feedback for improvement upon departmental and campus technology, answers, and processes.
- Deliver, set up, and assist in configuring end-user PC desktop hardware and software.
- Provide initial software support for client systems, as required.
- As needed, assist with servers, storage, networks, telephony, audio/video, security, and other related technical equipment.
- Provide on-call and after-hours support on an as-needed basis.
- Coordinate with clients regarding service requests, providing and supporting required technical equipment.
- Assist with and provide support for new client orientation procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by our Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in IT, customer service, or other related fields.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- Possesses the ability to: deliver technical customer support over the phone or in person; identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of level-one technical computer-related problems.
- Knowledge of desktop operating systems, various software applications, and basic hardware for the PC; principles and theories of network systems and management; Internet technologies and products.
- Server/directory administration and configuration experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable presenting and conducting training/orientation sessions for clients.
- Must be able to sit in front of a computer for prolonged periods. Must be able to perform physical activities such as but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
