Transitional Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Clever Bee Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing, and organized Transitional Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team! This role is perfect for someone passionate about early childhood education and helping children make a smooth, confident transition to kindergarten.

As the TK Lead Teacher, you’ll guide a classroom of 3–5-year-olds through daily learning experiences that build social, emotional, and academic skills. You’ll work closely with an assistant teacher, families, and the Center Director to create a safe, joyful, and stimulating classroom environment.

What You’ll Do

● Lead a vibrant Pre-K classroom: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that foster creativity, curiosity, and kindergarten readiness.

● Implement high-quality curriculum: Teach using Clever Bee Academy’s chosen curriculum, integrating both Read It Again and Ready 4 Math as supplemental programs to strengthen early literacy and numeracy skills.

● Support children’s growth: Encourage emotional expression, autonomy, and positive behavior using proactive classroom strategies.

● Create a great environment: Keep your classroom organized, welcoming, and conducive to hands-on learning.

● Assess and individualize: Observe and document children’s progress, conduct formal assessments, and tailor activities to each child’s needs.

● Partner with families: Build strong relationships, hold two parent-teacher conferences per year, and share regular updates through the Procare app.

● Collaborate with your team: Work alongside the assistant teacher and center leadership to ensure high-quality programming that meets all licensing and SUTQ standards.

● Maintain safety and structure: Supervise all activities, monitor health and hygiene, and maintain a consistent daily routine.

Qualifications

● Education:

○ Career Pathways Level (CPL) 3 or higher required

○ Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education

○ OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field (child development, special education, elementary education, or human services field) with a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) credits plus experience

● Certifications: CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporting

● Experience: Prior classroom experience with preschool or Pre-K children strongly preferred

● Skills:

○ Strong written and verbal communication

○ Ability to use classroom technology (iPads, ProCare, etc.)

○ Positive, collaborative attitude with a love for teaching and learning

● Physical requirements: Able to lift/carry up to 60 lbs, supervise children indoors and outdoors, and stay active throughout the day
