JOB SUMMARY
The Production Operator must be able to work well in a team environment and should be enthusiastic to learn and communicate constantly with the senior management process improvements as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to safety and quality policies and procedures in a food and pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Must follow written and verbal instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures in all machinery operation at all stages in manufacturing
- Must follow proper hygiene and safety protocols as per written procedures
- Executes appropriate documentation in adherence to Quality Management System and OSHA
Policies and Procedures
- Works with coworkers to clean, setup, and operate equipment and workstation to perform assigned duties as appropriate to achieve the requirements of the manufacturing schedule, with direction and supervision as required
- Demonstrates understanding of Production operations and the ability to assist with the job training for Trainee Operators
- The production operator might be involved, but not limited to, the following processes: o Weigh ingredients for production as per instructions on batch record o Load products onto machines o Setup and operate manufacturing equipment o Stage utensils for manufacturing o Load products onto trays for drying o Clean equipment before and after use o Clean manufacturing rooms and warehouse o Weigh and pack finished products o Apply labels on packaged product containers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high-school diploma or GED. 2-3 year experience in a manufacturing environment
(nutraceutical, pharmaceutical or food industry preferred)
- Basic math skills, ability to use a calculator as required
- Ability to learn manufacturing equipment operations, including but not limited to: weighing, manufacturing process, check weight, and all other production related activities
- Demonstrated ability to meet required standards of cGMP, product quality, yield standards and productivity performance
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Excellent attendance and reliability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. This position could require the worker to bend and/or stoop on occasion while performing various tasks
- Must be able to move and lift equipment and reagents up to 25 kg (60 lbs) without mechanical aid and up to 2,000 pounds with mechanical aid and support from coworkers
- Must be able to perform job requirements while wearing appropriate PPE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.50 - $13.00 per hour
