Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Job Overview

We are seeking someone with a friendly and upbeat disposition to join our team at Clever Deli, running the front of the house. In this role, you will be much more than the person who takes an order and payment. You are the friendly face that welcomes customers, processes transactions efficiently, and provides exceptional service to ensure a positive experience. Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system accurately, handling sales transactions with speed and precision.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Upsell products and promote store specials through engaging conversation and knowledgeable recommendations.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to maintain an attractive store layout.
• Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries.
• Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and reporting low inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and store policies during all cashiering and customer service activities.
• Ensure the front of the house maintains a clean appearance and adheres to all food & restaurant service guidelines.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with POS systems, DoorDash, & Uber Eats is advantageous.
• Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in growth opportunities within the team.
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening abilities, are essential for success.
• Experience in merchandising, upselling, and retail store product knowledge will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 38.0 per week
