What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Registered Vet tech position at Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation?
Be part of a growing, cutting edge rehabilitation clinic in Willoughby Hills! We are searching for an organized, enthusiastic, empathetic, and action-oriented RVT / Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This thoughtfully designed ground up facility has been open for less than three years and is expanding again! Our employee centric workplace proves to be one of a kind with high tech innovation, exceptional customer service, and excellent patient care. Please read this entire description. If you don't submit all required information, you will not be considered for an interview.
Being a team member at Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation is different than most other veterinary clinics. There is no general medicine being performed here. We are strictly a rehabilitation facility. You must have very strong dog/cat handling skills. This means that you have been actively working in a position with dogs and cats that requires skills that keep the patient as well as everybody in the room safe and comfortable.
Another important part of working at CVR is keeping the exam rooms and all other areas of the clinic clean, organized and well stocked with all things needed to have a successful appointment with every patient. A good candidate should be able to know what is needed for each appointment and think ahead and prepare. Being able to work with others to keep the day flowing without the need to be micromanaged is a must. We pride ourselves on a beautiful, clean, and organized experience for all patients.
Our culture at CVR is more important to us than anything else. We can teach you how to be a great teammate in the wonderful world of rehab but we can't teach you to be an awesome person. Because of that, we heavily weigh one's character rather than your skills. As long as you have a good solid foundation as an RVT / Assistant, we can teach you the specifics of rehabilitation medicine and how to succeed. We're much more concerned about your awesomeness quotient and your ability to work with a positive, high producing, very tight knit team. Your personality is really important, and that doesn't just mean that you're friendly and get along with everyone. If you see a twenty minute gap in between appointments as an opportunity to get caught up on Facebook instead of finding something that needs to be done (and there's always something that needs to be done), you won't last long here. Our team members are hard working, self-motivated, amazing people who never need to be prompted to go do something. Part of having a great culture is not having any toxic people on our team. It only takes one person to make everyone miserable, and we will not tolerate that from anyone on our team. If you feed on drama, don't apply. You won't be happy here and we will be quick to free up your future.
The positive part: Because of all this, CVR is a fantastic place to work! There is no drama, instead there is support, cohesiveness, respect, and positive energy. We work very hard to find the best people to work here and it shows!
When you apply for this job, you need to submit a cover letter as well as a resume. If you don't submit a cover letter, we're not going to look at your resume. Your resume tells us what you've done. Your cover letter tells us who you are. Don't miss this opportunity, let your character and personality spill out all over your letter. Stick out in the crowd. Tell us what makes you an awesome person, and why you want to be part of the CVR team. Tell us about your small animal experience, and what you are passionate about, and what your hopes and dreams are. We're trying to get a feel for who you are. Good communication right from the beginning is a great way to build a solid relationship.
To summarize, come be part of a facility that is equipped with two underwater treadmills, a SwimEx resistance pool, Class 4 lasers, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, gait analysis system, regenerative medicine, nuclear medicine, digital radiology, ultrasound, and a large fully equipped gym. All this and the facility is finishing a 2000 square foot expansion soon. Candidates must be customer-focused and possess a team player attitude with a willingness to assist other coworkers. Experience or certification in rehab is a big plus! Come join us and be a part of one of the fastest growing fields in the veterinary industry!
