What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager, IS&T position at Cleveland State University?
Manages technology projects across several units within the division, from creation to completion. Supports a project management framework oversight. Assists with the development and deployment of the project management framework which includes standards for project planning practices, procedures as well as planning and reporting templates. Communicates with project teams, management and stakeholders to build relationships across campus. Creates and leads project meetings along with project team members to define scope, business requirements, resources, and timelines. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in information technology, computer science or related field.
- Three (3) years of project management experience preferably in a mid-sized to large organization.
- Experience with project time management/software tools and techniques.
- Experience with vendor evaluations including contract negotiations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferably in management information systems (MIS) or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Higher education information project management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of all areas of an IT organization including applications, data center, and network.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and track a number of complex IS&T initiatives at one time.
- Ability to collaborate with the IT leadership team to balance multiple project priorities, resource demands and project conflicts (in-process and pending).
- Knowledge of the mechanics for developing and controlling projects and programs.
- Ability to utilize previous experience with project management software, IT performance metrics and expertise in scope management, resource management, budgeting and scheduling to oversee large, complex and interdependent projects.
- Ability to incorporate principles of teamwork with all organizational levels in the resolution, completion, and follow-up of various responsibilities.
- Ability to interact professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
