Job Summary
Performs rough and finished interior and exterior carpentry work involved in building maintenance repair and alterations. Performs such activities as fabricating repairs and installing door frames, casings, keys and windows, replacing screens and window glass, maintaining panic hardware, repairing ceiling tiles as needed, installing drop ceilings, repairing and installing floor tiles and performing preventive maintenance on all buildings. Performs other miscellaneous duties (e.g., cleans shop, oils and cleans equipment, sharpens tools and reads blueprints). Assists in other trade as needed. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship, preferably a four (4) year apprenticeship
- Five (5) years experience as a journeyman carpenter.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints
- Ability to fabricate and laminate cabinetry.
- Ability and willingness to work from a ladder up to ten (10) feet, work in inclement weather, and work overtime and weekends when needed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
