Job Overview

We are a lifestyle medicine practice that helps our patients overcome chronic diseases by transitioning to a whole food, plant-focused diet.

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) to join our team. This role involves working 1:1 with clients in a private practice setting—both in-person and via telehealth. The ideal candidate is empathetic, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively and is able to build relationships with new and existing clients. In addition to working directly with patients to help them meet their health goals, your assistance in continuing to grow our practice will be vital. Your marketing, networking, and selling skills will be utilized.

SKILLS NEEDED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Emotional Intelligence – The ability to anticipate unstated needs and understand patients’ emotional states to help you optimize patient care
• Empathy – People looking for nutrition care, whatever the reason may be, often feel discouraged and feel doubt, especially if they’ve been let down by other healthcare providers. Your job is to relate and show our clients you understand their situation and how they feel so they feel confident in us as their trusted providers.
• Connection – We create strong relationships with our patients and recognize that they are people first and patients second, which means that we place heavy emphasis on making sure that their personal needs are met in the context of their medical care plan.
• Clear Communication – The ability to communicate clearly is fundamental to establishing trust and building relationships with patients. When communication breaks down and patient expectations are not clearly set, this may lead to misunderstandings and unhappy patients who may feel like they were misled.
• Dispute Resolution – An important part of creating an outstanding patient experience is having the ability to address any potential patient complaint or concern in a positive and helpful manner. You need to be comfortable enough with confrontation to be able to calm a patient down without becoming emotional or defensive, and resolve the concern in a way that leaves the patient feeling heard and satisfied.
• Organization – We have created standard procedures to help ensure that all the tasks and responsibilities of this position can be efficiently completed in a systematic and methodical fashion, but this requires that you stay organized.
• Computer Skills – We are a near-paperless office and rely heavily on user-friendly technology. You need to be comfortable working on computers and have a knack for intuitively understanding and quickly learning how to navigate new software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct comprehensive, personalized nutrition assessments and ongoing support
• Develop individualized care plans and goals based on client needs while building a trusting relationship with client
• Document sessions in a timely and professional manner
• Collaborate with Dr. Gutman and other team members to coordinate care plans and relay vital information
• Stay current with best practices and continuing education
• Confidently present and sell nutrition program packages to prospective and existing clients

We have two office locations and we are currently hiring for our Fairlawn office. During your training period with our current dietitian you will work in our Fairlawn office on Mondays and Wednesdays as well as our Beachwood office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once your training is complete you will be taking over our Fairlawn office. Monday and Wednesday will always be in person with the ability to work via telehealth on other days as you fill your schedule.
