Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials.
The Carpenter reads blueprints, measures materials, and constructs structural frameworks, doors, staircases, and trim. You will use hand and power tools to cut and shape wood, drywall, and other materials with high precision. Success in this role means completing projects safely, on time, and up to local building codes.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading Plans: Study blueprints, drawings, and building specifications to map out dimensions and project needs.
- Measuring and Cutting: Measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, plastic, and other building materials using hand and power tools.
- Building Frameworks: Construct structural foundations like walls, floors, doorframes, staircases, and roof timbers.
- Installing Fixtures: Fit and install doors, windows, molding, hardware, and cabinets.
- Repair and Maintenance: Inspect damaged structures, remove old framework, and reinforce or replace weakened parts.
- Site Safety and Compliance: Follow local building codes, wear protective gear, and keep a clean, safe work zone.
Qualifications:
- Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Previous carpentry or construction experienced preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Painting, spray painting, plastering and spackling skills
