Licensure
- Candidates must hold and or be eligible to hold the Birth-Kindergarten (014) or Pre-K (015) license area.
- Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses in early childhood development;
- Examples of related courses include:
- Child Development, Early Childhood, Psychology
- Eligibility for the residency license must be established prior to a contract offer.
- K-6 licensed candidates (with at least 24 semester hours of Early Childhood coursework) will be considered but must be willing to obtain a provisional license and complete the requirements to obtain Pre-K licensure.
- Compassionate and empathetic toward children
- Very strong classroom management skills are needed
- Have experience with Creative Curriculum and writing quality lesson plans
- Experience working with preschool age children preferred (including children with disabilities)
- Organizational skills are required
- Excellent computer skills
- Above average communication skills
- Good rapport with parents
