Domestic Violence Shelter/Housekeeping and Crisis Line

Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Domestic Violence Shelter/Housekeeping and Crisis Line responder, where you will play a vital role in providing a safe haven and compassionate support to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence. This dynamic position combines shelter housekeeping responsibilities with crisis intervention services, ensuring a clean, secure environment while offering empathetic assistance to those in need. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will help empower survivors on their journey toward safety and recovery.

Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shelter environment, including cleaning, laundry, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a welcoming space for residents.
• Assist with basic food preparation and storage.
• Provide crisis intervention support via the crisis hotline, offering immediate emotional support, safety planning, and resource guidance to callers.
• Assist with intake procedures by gathering essential information from clients seeking shelter or assistance, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Support residents by providing emotional support and resources.
• Monitor facility access and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Document resident information and service delivery.

Requirements

• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, staff, emergency responders, and community partners.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
