Senior Research Engineer - MR Image Analysis

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will support MR image analysis performed by the Radiology Research Core and numerous projects across the Imaging Sciences section. In this role, you will assume responsibility for planning and implementing a variety of complex assignments, identify new concepts, coordinate efforts across engineering specializations, resolve complex problems and initiatives, and make recommendations on solutions. You will independently analyze, investigate and plan specific engineering criteria, characteristics and features to meet assignment goals.

Approximately half of your time will be dedicated to performing MRI scans for research protocols, including neuro, musculoskeletal and cancer studies. The remaining time will focus on processing and analyzing imaging data, developing data pipelines, performing data quality checks, coordinating research scans and determining patient eligibility. This position will work closely with research teams and collaborate across disciplines, requiring strong communication and teamwork.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform routine engineering investigations in support of current research or product development efforts using engineering software analysis tools.
• Prepare design sketches or drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes or equipment using CAD or 3-D solid modeling software.
• Assist with the design, development, and evaluation of prototype medical devices, equipment, and software.
• Assist with preparation and evaluation of test protocols and test specimens.
• Prepare charts, graphs and other documentation in support of articles for publication, project reports and grant applications.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field and three years of directly related experience
• OR Master's Degree and one year of experience

• Master's Degree

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to distinguish color
• Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
• Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens up to 20 pounds
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50
