As Senior Registered Behavior Technician at our Cleveland Clinic Children’s Center for Autism in Rocky River, you will work under the clinical supervision of the Behavior Analyst to provide behavior-analytic services to multiple patients with autism spectrum disorders and related developmental disabilities in an outpatient setting. Serve as a mentor for new staff by assisting in onboarding and training as directed by BCBA.
A caregiver in this position works Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
- Acquire baseline data and implement approved treatment plan using applied behavior analysis neutrally and consistently; fluently implement discrete trial teaching procedures across a variety of patients and functioning levels; follow the prompting hierarchy; apply reinforcement procedures effectively, utilize SDs that are clear, concise and consistent; utilize prompt fading, shaping, and chaining procedures.
- Assist in creating patient treatment plans; programming patient data sheets; review patient data sheets.
- Select appropriate task analyses and teaching targets based on patient's goals/objectives; monitor, analyze and troubleshoot programs; create and update graphs for each treatment session; choose appropriate antecedent manipulation(s); select appropriate alternative behavior and teaching strategies.
- Assist Outpatient Behavior Analyst in conducting functional behavior assessments to include conducting a record review and Functional Assessment Interview, define behavior and choose appropriate method of data collection, summarize environment, setting events, and medical information.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding progress, troubleshoot, generalization strategies for home, and other elements of parent training as designated by Outpatient Behavior Analyst.
- Participate in required supervision with Outpatient Behavior Analyst.
- Serve as a mentor for new staff by assisting in onboarding and training as directed by BCBA.
- Actively participate in new staff RBT certification training/competency fulfillment.
- Participate in outpatient team planning.
- Assist in acquiring insurance approval.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- Associate’s degree or six months ABA experience
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification (RBT)
- Two years’ experience as RBT or one year as outpatient RBT at CCF
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with children
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting students, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Physically able to manage patients of varying weight and sizes.
- Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
